Church Point, La. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Monday, February 16, 2015 at Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Church Point, La. for Herman "Hi " Guidry, 84. Mr. Guidry, a native and long-time resident of Church Point, died early Friday, February 13 at Lafayette General Medical Center in Lafayette, La. Monsignor Jefferson J. DeBlanc will conduct the services with entombment following in the Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Mausoleum on Highway 35 north of Church Point.
Survivors include his wife, Theresa Comeaux Guidry of Church Point; three sons: Ronald Guidry and companion Pauline Guidry of Church Point, John Guidry and wife Trudy of Branch and Peter Guidry and companion Lisa of Maurice, La.; two daughters, Debbie Mire and husband Danny of Mire, La and Mary Lanclos and husband Neil of Church Point; three sisters: Mary Daigle and Terry Zerangue of Church Point and Jeanette Daigle and husband Vernell of Rayne, La.; sixteen grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Leus and Aline Comeaux Guidry; a daughter, Patricia Guidry Thibodeaux; a grandson, Ben Guidry; two brothers, Burton and Austin Guidry and a sister, Violet Guidry.
The family requested that visiting hours be observed from 5:00 P.M. until 10:00 P.M. on Sunday, February 15 and continue from 8:00 A.M. Monday until the time of the services. A recitation of the Rosary will be held at 7:00 P.M. on Sunday by Monsignor DeBlanc.
A veteran of the Louisiana Army National Guard, Mr. Guidry was a plant manager at Daigle Oil Company in Church Point for a number of years. A member of American Legion Post 225, he will be honored with a Flag presentation Ceremony at the time of services.
