Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, March 21, 2012 at Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Church Point for Helena Thibodeaux, 91, the former Helena Doucet. Mrs Thibodeaux, a native and life-long resident of Church Point, died at 6:30 P.M. Saturday, March 17 at Acadia-St. Landry Guest Home in Church Point. Monsignor Jefferson J. DeBlanc will conduct the services with interment following in the Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Cemetery in Church Point.
Survivors include a son, Donald Thibodeaux of Iron Mountain, Mi.; two daughters, Wilda Andrepont and husband Gerald of Sunset, La. and Linda Larson and husband John II of Church Point; four sisters: Rose Guillory of Lafayette, La., Lilly Higginbotham of Church Point, Marie Aguillard of Crowley, La. and Rita Marks of Opelousas, La.; eight grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Louis Thibodeaux; her second husband, Eli Leger; her parents, Leo and Hermina (Jeanise) Doucet and two sons, John Eldridge and Terry Thibodeaux.
The family requested that visiting hours be observed from 3:00 P.M. until 9:00 P.M. on Tuesday, March 20 and continue from 8:00 A.M. Wednesday until the time of the services. A recitation of the Rosary will be held at 7:00 P.M. on Tuesday by Monsignor DeBlanc.
A devout Catholic, Mrs. Thibodeaux was a member the Church Point Neighborhood Rosary Group for a number of years.
