Church Point, La. Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 A.M. Friday, December 21, 2012 at Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Church Point for Mrs. Gurvis J. Leger, 70, the former Velma Mary LeJeune. Mrs. Leger, a native of Lawtell, La. and long-time resident of Church Point, died peacefully surrounded by family at 4:00 A.M. Tuesday, December 18 at her residence. Monsignor Jefferson J. DeBlanc will conduct the services with interment following in the Monsignor Bienvenu Cemetery on Highway 35 north of Church Point.

Survivors include her husband, Gurvis J. Leger of Church Point; a daughter, Linda Joubert and husband Donald of Church Point; a son, Terry Leger and wife Dana of Church Point; her brothers: Irby LeJeune and wife Anna of Church Point, Norris LeJeune and wife Paula and John LeJeune, Jr. and wife Norma-all of Lawtell and Michael LeJeune and wife Yvonne of Lewisburg, La.; two sisters, Betty Thibodeaux and husband John of Central, La. and Verbie Benoit and husband Johnny of Addis, La.; six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two daughters, Cindy Sattler and Tricia Leger; three grandchildren, Chasity Guidry, Seth Savant and Dirk Olivier; a great-grandchild, Zack Lavergne; a brother, Ricky James LeJeune and her parents, John, Sr. and Ruby Faul LeJeune.
The family requested that visiting hours be observed from 9:00 A.M. until 10:00 P.M. on Thursday, December 20 and continue from 8:00 A.M. Friday until the time of the services. A recitation of the Rosary will be held at 7:30 P.M. on Thursday by Monsignor DeBlanc.

The family wishes to thank the staff of Heart of Hospice, especially Stacy Dubois, for their care and compassion during her illness.
Mrs. Leger was a prayerful, devout Christian who was loved by many.
