Church Point, LA:         A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, November 7, 2020 at Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Church Point, LA for Glenn Ray Matte, 68. Mr. Matte, a native of Church Point, passed away Tuesday evening, November 3 at The Cornerstone at the Ranch in Lafayette, LA. Reverend Patrick Broussard, pastor of the church, will be the celebrant of the Mass and will conduct the committal services in the Monsignor Bienvenu Cemetery on Hwy 35 north of Church Point.

He is survived by his brother, Kenneth Matte of Church Point; his sister-in-law, Clara B. Matte of Church Point; his aunt, Joyce Matte of Opelousas, LA; his beloved cousin, Judy Matte Ortego of Opelousas; his Godchild, Charisse Matte and fiance, John Guidry; his nephew, Jessie Matte; his great-niece, Leah Guidry; his great-nephews, Taylor Comeaux and Tate Guidry; his great-great-nephew, Thomas Guidry and his extended family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph Cleveland Matte and Alita Godeaux Matte and an infant sister, Sandra Matte. The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Guidry Funeral Home from 12:00 Noon until 9:00 PM Friday, November 6 and continue from 8:00 AM until the time of services on Saturday. A rosary will be recited in the funeral home at 7:00 PM Friday by Deacon Bryne Winn. Mr. Matte, a gentle soul who loved turtles, was loved and will be missed. Guidry Funeral Home, 219 N. Broadway St., Church Point, LA is in charge of final arrangements.
