Obituary

Church Point, LA:     Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 PM Thursday, April 25, 2024 at the St. John Catholic Chapel in Lewisburg, LA for Andre Blaine Glen Bourgeois, 88. Mr. Bourgeois, a native and resident of St. Landry Parish near Lewisburg, died Wednesday morning, April 24 at his residence. Fr. Brian Harrington, Pastor of OLSH Church, will conduct the services with interment following in the St. John Cemetery adjacent to the Chapel.

Survivors include his wife, Mary Richard Bourgeois of Lewisburg; a daughter, Carla Richard and husband Bobby of Lewisburg; 25 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren; 2 sisters, Judy Johnson of Eunice, LA and Betty Hernandez and husband Gene Allan of Baton Rouge, LA and a son-in-law and daughter-in-law, Dale Miller and Angela Bourgeois-both of Church Point. He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Evelyn Thibodeaux Bourgeois; his first wife, Anna Belle Latiolais Bourgeois; a son, Charles Keith Bourgeois; a daughter, Andrea Tina Miller; 2 grandsons, Derrick and Gary Richard and a great-grandson, Axel Richard.

The family requested that visiting hours be observed at Guidry Funeral Home from 9:00 AM Thursday until the time of services. A recitation of the Rosary will be held there at 1:00 PM by Deacon Byrne Winn. Pallbearers will be Bobby, Cody, Cayden, Dax and Dakota Richard; Joseph Miller, Andre Fontenot and Ethan Devillier. Heather Miller and Cambriella Richard will be gift bearers with Lexi Alleman and Anna Fontenot as readers. Mr. Bourgeois, employed in the oilfield for a number of years, was a loving husband, father and grandfather. Proud of his service to community and country, he was a U.S. Air Force veteran, a 4th Degree Knight of the local Knights of Columbus, a Eucharistic Minister and a member of the American Legion Honor Guard. He will be honored with a Flag Presentation at the time of Services. Arrangements are being handled by Guidry Funeral Home, Inc.; 219 N. Broadway, Church Point, LA (337) 684-5488.
