Church Point, La. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Sunday, December 9, 2012 at Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Church Point, La. for Gladys Marie Matte, 86, the former Gladys Marie Thibodeaux. Mrs. Matte, a native and life-long resident of rural Church Point, passed away peacefully at 12:55 P.M. Thursday, December 6 at her son's residence near Church Point. Monsignor Jefferson J. DeBlanc will conduct the services with entombment following in the Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Mausoleum on Highway 35 north of Church Point.

Survivors include her son, Deacon Paul Dillard Matte and wife Helen (Richard) Matte of Church Point; a daughter-in-law, Shelia (Guillory) Matte of Church Point; her grandchildren: Amy (Matte) Silverman and husband David, Ethan Matte and wife Tracy, Jeanne Matte, Sarah (Matte) Richard and husband Josh, Michael Allen Matte and wife Mindy and Lucas Matte and her great-grandchildren: Sammie, Maggie and Mollie Silverman, Tyler and Jaden Matte and Parker Eldridge.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Allen Matte; her parents, Edward and Lizzie (Leger) Thibodeaux; a son, Michael Matte; a brother, Joseph Nelson Thibodeaux and a sister, Carrie (Thibodeaux) Lejeune.

The family requested that visiting hours be observed from 2:00 P.M. until 9:00 P.M. on Saturday, December 8 and continue from 9:00 A.M. Sunday until the time of the services. A recitation of the Rosary will be held at 7:00 P.M. on Saturday by Deacon Matte.
