Church Point, LA: Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, May 20, 2023 at the St. John Catholic Chapel in Lewisburg, LA for Gertrude G. Thibodeaux, 73, the former Gertrude Mary Guilbeaux. Mrs. Thibodeaux, a native and resident of St. Landry Parish, LA, died Wednesday evening, May 17 at her daughter's residence in Arnaudville, LA. Father Brian Harrington, pastor, will conduct the services with interment following in the cemetery adjacent to the church.

Survivors include her daughters: Pam Hargroder of Church Point, Stephanie East of Opelousas, LA and Michelle Thibodeaux of Arnaudville; 8 grandchildren: Austin, Allison, Jacob, Gabrielle and Joshua Coussan, Brittany and Cody East and Rebekah Davis; three great-grandchildren: Lorelai Faust, Evelyn Adams and Saylor Breaux and a brother, Hilton Guilbeaux and wife Sue of Opelousas. She was preceded in death by her parents, Saul and Theresa Miller Guilbeaux and her husband, Huey Thibodeaux.

The family requested that visiting hours be observed at Guidry Funeral Home from 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM on Friday, May 19 and continue from 8:00 AM Saturday until the time of services. A recitation of the Rosary will be held there at 7:00 PM Friday by Deacon Byrne Winn. A positive, kind and happy person; Mrs. Thibodeaux was a self-taught seamstress and cake decorator who loved caring for her family, friends and church.
