A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 2:00 pm on Sunday, January 31, 2016 at Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church for Gerard Boudreaux, 62, who passed away on Friday, January 29, 2016 at 8:45 am at his residence surrounded by his family.

Msgr. Jefferson Deblanc, Pastor of Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church, will be the Celebrant of the Mass. Readings will be read by his daughters, Jenny B. Higginbotham and Jamie Boudreaux Thibodeaux. Musician will be Kenny Janise.

Burial will take place in Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Cemetery - Hwy 35.

Gerard, a resident of Lawtell, LA was the son of the late George Boudreaux and the former Mary Eula Jagneaux.

He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Linda F. Boudreaux of Lawtell, LA; three daughters, Julie Boudreaux Lyons and husband Barrett of Church Point, LA, Jenny B. Higginbotham and companion Chad LeMaire of Kaplan, LA and Jamie Boudreaux Thibodeaux and husband Colby of Eunice, LA; 10 grandchildren, Alexis, Mallorie, Bailey and Laynie Higginbotham, all of Church Point, LA, Emmerson, Eli and Ellie Lyons, all of Church Point, LA, Wesley, Lyla Grace and Grayson Thibodeaux of Eunice, LA; four sisters, Charlene Leger, Yvonne Noel, Georgia Stout and Susan Miller; and one brother, Glenn Boudreaux.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Mr. Boudreaux worked for St. Landry parish government as a yard foreman for nine years and a representative for a sign company for twenty eight years. Gerard was an avid cattle farmer for 40 years and loved to garden and cook for family and friends. His love for his family, especially his grandchildren, was his greatest joy and loved having them around.

The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Guidry Funeral Home on, Saturday, January 30, 2016 from 10:00 am until 9:00 pm and continue on Sunday from 8:00 am until 11:00 am at the funeral home. Visitation will also be held at Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church from 12:00 pm until the time of service. A rosary will be recited Saturday evening in the funeral home at 7:00 pm.

Pallbearers will be Barrett Lyons, Glenn Boudreaux, Tommy Richard, Darrel Guillory, Wesley Thibodeaux and Eli Lyons.
