A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 A.M. Saturday, November 22, 2008 at Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Church Point for Geraldine Melancon Bearb, 57,the former Geraldine Melancon. Mrs. Bearb, born in Church Point to Frank and Anna Lou Melancon, was a resident of Acadia-St. Landry Guest Home, Church Point. She passed away there at 1:30 A.M. on Thursday, November 20, 2008. Monsignor Jefferson J. DeBlanc will conduct the services with interment following in the St. John Catholic Cemetery; Lewisburg, La.

Survivors include four sons: Ron Bearb and wife Laura of Church Point, Maurice Bearb, Christopher Bearb, and Travis Bearb and wife Mandy of Grand Prairie, La.; her father, Frank Melancon; her sister, Mary Linda Melancon; three brothers: Michael, Frank, Jr. and Timmy Melancon and six grandchildren: Laine Miller and Lance, Chelsea, Bailey, Meghan and Blaze Bearb.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Anna Lou Knott Melancon and three brothers: Earl, Jimmy and Terry Melancon.

The family requested that visiting hours be observed at Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Church from 10:00 A.M. until the time of the services on Saturday.
