Church Point, La. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 P.M. Thursday, August 13, 2009 at Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Church Point for Gerald Henry, 55. Mr. Henry, a native and life-long resident of Church Point, died at 7:00 P.M. Monday, August 10, 2009 at his residence near Church Point. Father Gene Tremie will conduct the services with interment following in the Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Cemetery; Highway 35, Church Point.
Survivors include his mother, Mavis Douga of Church Point; his wife, Patsy Aucoin Henry of Church Point; two sons, Buddy Henry and wife Amy of Church Point and ChanCey Henry and wife Staci of Sulphur, La.; a daughter, Natasha Ardoin and husband Nicholas of Eunice, La.; five brothers: Ebey Henry, Jr. of Mire, La., Michael Henry of Carencro, La. and Kenneth Henry, Johnny Henry and Billy Henry of Church Point; four sisters: Dorothy "Dot" Nelams of Church Point, Geraldine Circello of Melville, La., Delores Vidrine of Opelousas, La. and Geneva Stelly of Arnaudville, La. and three grandchildren: Dylan and Benjamin Henry and Kameron Ardoin.
He was preceded in death by a grandson, Connor Lamana; his step-father, Easton "Pop" Douga and his father, Ebey Henry, Sr.
The family requested that visiting hours be observed from 9:00 A.M. until 10:00 P.M. on Wednesday, August 12 and continue from 8:00 A.M. until the time of the services on Thursday. A recitation of the Rosary will be held at 7:00 P.M. on Wednesday.
Pallbearers will be Buddy and ChanCey Henry, Nicholas Ardoin, Joseph LeJeune, Jerry Darby and Herbie Angorham. Honorary pallbearers will be Jay Ardoin and Chad Vidrine.
