Church Point, LA Our beloved father, grandfather & great grandfather, Freddie Thibodeaux, has fallen asleep in Christ on January 7, 2019 at Senior Care in Jacksonville, TX. Our gracious and merciful God granted him a peaceful death, surrounded by family as the Psalms and prayers were read aloud.
Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 AM Saturday, January 12, 2019 at Guidry Funeral Home, Church Point, LA with burial following in Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Cemetery, Hwy 35, Church Point. Visitation will be held Friday January 11, from 2:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Guidry Funeral Home. Visitation will continue on Saturday January 12 from 8:00 AM until the time of service. A rosary will be recited on Friday at 6:00 PM.
Freddie Thibodeaux, 90, was a native and life long resident and barber for 62 years in Church Point, LA. In addition, as a young man, he served in the U.S. Army and received an honorable discharge at the completion of his service.
Freddie is survived by a son, Barry Thibodeaux & wife Linda of Jacksonville, TX; two daughters, Paula Afghani & husband Oscar of Dallas, TX and Suzanne Wetta & husband Ray of Church Point, LA; eight Grandchildren, Kevin Thibodeaux & wife Cathrine, Christopher Thibodeaux & wife Erin, Richard Wetta, Sarah Weiss & husband Phil, David Wetta & partner Desaray Melvin, Douglas Wetta & wife Elizabeth, Ashley Afghani Leek & husband Charles, and Mike Afghani and his great grandchildren, Carson, Austin, Paisley, Nicholas, Frederick, Barryn, Lydia, Alexander, Jake, Samuel, Caroline, Alora & one expected.
He was preceded in death by his Parents: Cyphrian Thibodeaux & Adele Revette Thibodeaux; his wife of 59 years, Mary Lois Miller Thibodeaux; six brothers, Luke, Joseph, Jean Batiste (Bot), John C., Felician & Ferdie Thibodeaux and six sisters, Rose T. Richard, Armance T. Mouton, Elena T. Comeaux-Navarre, Madline T. Richard, Delphine T. Leger, & Eleanor T. Venable. Freddie was the youngest of 13 children and the last one to pass. He will be deeply missed!
