Church Point, La. Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 A.M. Saturday, June 6, 2009 at Guidry Funeral Home, Church Point for Mrs. Freddie Thibodeaux, 74, the former Mary Lois Miller. Mrs. Thibodeaux, a native of and long-time resident of Church Point, died at 8:15 A.M. Wednesday, June 3 at Opelousas General Hospital; Opelousas, La. Father Barry Thibodeaux, a minister of the Eastern Orthodox Church and Mary's son, will conduct the services with interment following in the Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Cemetery; Highway 35, Church Point.
Survivors include her husband of fifty-nine years, Freddie Thibodeaux of Church Point; a son, Fr. Barry Thibodeaux and wife Linda of Jacksonville, Tex.; two daughters, Paula A. Afghani and husband Oscar of Dallas, Tex. and Suzanne T. Wetta and husband Ray of Church Point; a brother, Leroy "Jimmy" Miller of Sunset, La.; eight grandchildren: Christopher S. Thibodeaux, Sarah K. Paul, Kevin S. Afghani, Attorney-at-Law and Michael B. Afghani, Ashley R. Afghani, Richard N. Wetta and twin grandsons, David D. and Douglas D. Wetta and three great-grandchildren, Carson M. Paul, Logan P. Wetta and Austin N. Wetta. A fourth great-grandchild is expected soon.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Houston and Aline Doucet Miller.
The family requested that visiting hours be observed from 3:00 P.M. until 9:00 P.M. on Friday, June 5 and continue from 8:00 A.M. Saturday until the time of the services. A recitation of Evening Prayers will be held at 7:00 P.M. on Friday by Fr. Thibodeaux.
Mrs. Thibodeaux will be greatly missed by her loving husband and her entire family.
Pallbearers will be: David and Richard Wetta, Kevin Afghani, Christopher Thibodeaux, Donnie Miller and Matt Paul.
