Church Point, La. Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 P.M. Friday, December 18, 2015 at Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Church Point, La. for Freddie Benoit,90. Mr. Benoit , a native and long-time resident of Church Point, died Wednesday morning, December 16 at Opelousas General Hospital in Opelousas, La. Father Garrett Savoie will conduct the services with interment following in the Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Cemetery on highway 35 north of Church Point.

Survivors include four sons: Fred Benoit and wife Pam, Randy Benoit and wife Alisha, Dwayne "PaJoe" Benoit and wife Pam-all of Church Point and Gene Benoit and wife Debbie of Mire, La.; four daughters: Diann Doucet and husband Lubert of Eunice, La., Elaine Latiolais and husband John Dale and Cindy Housley and husband Duane-all of Church Point and Lisa Thibodeaux and husband Frank of Crowley, La.; twenty-seven grandchildren, twenty-two great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Lucille Hanks Benoit; his parents, Amos and Adeline Lebouef Benoit; a son, Roger Dale Benoit and a granddaughter, Tessie Ann Doucet.
The family requested that visiting hours be observed at Guidry Funeral Home from 10:00 A.M. until 10:00 P.M. on Thursday, December17 and continue from 8:00 A.M. Friday until the time of the services. A recitation of the Rosary will be held there at 7:30 P.M. Thursday by Deacon Bryne Winn.
Pallbearers will be Derek Latiolais, Kevin "Blackie" Doucet, Trevor, Victor, Eric and Michael Benoit, Timothy Benoit and Andre Thibodeaux with Dominic and Jacques Thibodeaux and Gavin Benoit as honorary pallbearers. Readers will be Jeanne Thibodeaux and Kirklyn Latiolais with Olivia and Alex Benoit as altar servers and Ashley Westerfield, Adele Ball and Erica Murphy as giftbearers.
