Church Point, La. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Thursday, November 11, 2010 at Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Church Point for Mrs. Freddie (Lucille) Benoit, 79, the former Lucille Hanks. Mrs. Benoit, a native of Scott, La. and long-time resident of Church Point, died at 4:12 P.M. Monday, November 8 at Acadia-St. Landry Hospital, Church Point. Father Brad Guillory will conduct the services with interment following in the Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Cemetery on Highway 35 north of Church Point.
Survivors include her husband, Freddie Benoit of Church Point; four sons: Fred Benoit and wife Pam, Randy Benoit and wife Alisha and Dwayne "PaJoe" Benoit and wife Pam-all of Church Point-and Gene Benoit and wife Debbie of Mire, La.; four daughters: Diann Doucet and husband Lubert of Eunice, La., Elaine Latiolais and husband John Dale of Church Point, Cindy Housley and husband Duane of Ocean Springs, Miss. and Lisa Thibodeaux and husband Frank of Crowley, La.; a daughter-in-law, Maria Benoit of Church Point; a brother, Elton Hanks of Church Point; a sister, Rosa Belle Arceneaux of Rayne, La.; twenty-seven grandchildren, seventeen great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Delano and Jeanne Solange Begnaud Hanks; a son, Roger Dale Benoit; a granddaughter, Tessie Ann Doucet; five brothers and a sister.
The family requested that visiting hours be observed from 10:00 A.M. until 10:00 P.M. on Wednesday, November 10 and continue from 8:00 A.M. Thursday until the time of the services. A recitation of the Rosary will be held at 7:00 P.M. on Wednesday by Deacon Bryne Winn.
Pallbearers will be Scotty Doucet, Brandon Latiolais, Cainan, Victor and Eric Benoit, Timothy Hebert and Andre Thibodeaux.
