Church Point, LA Funeral Services will be held at 4:00 P.M. Monday, August 21, 2017 at St. Bridget Catholic Church in Lawtell. LA for Francis Ferdie 'Brother" Arceneaux, Jr., 58. Mr. Arceneaux, a long-time resident of the Swords area in rural St. Landry Parish, died Sunday morning, August 13 at his residence. Father Austin Leger will conduct the services. Survivors include his wife, Connie Stelly Arceneaux of Swords; two daughters, Sommer Elizabeth Arceneaux and Michelle Penny Stelly of Swords; four brothers: Charles Arceneaux and wife Jane of Erwinville, LA, Donald "Don" Arceneaux and wife Pam of Austin, TX and Wayne Arceneaux and wife Gayle and Ted Arceneaux and wife Paula-all of Opelousas, LA and four sisters: Lois Fontenot and husband Rollis and Cathy Carriere and husband Murphy "Junior" Carriere-all of Opelousas, Bernadine Comeaux and husband Roy of Swords and Margaret Timmons and husband Johnny of Lawtell. He was preceded in death by his parents, Francis Ferdie Arceneaux, Sr. and Ella Fontenot Arceneaux and a brother, Danny Arceneaux. The family requested that visiting hours be observed at Guidry Funeral Home from 7:00 A.M. until the time of the services on Monday. A recitation of the Rosary will be held there at 3:00 P.M. Monday by Father Leger. Pallbearers will be Charles, Wayne, Don and Ted Arceneaux; Paul and Patrick Stelly, Timmy LeJeune, Brice Latiolais, Danny Riviere, Tony Castille, Ronnie Boudreaux, Gary Grimmett and Mark "Zeeb" Thibodeaux. Mr. Arceneaux, who was sought after for his flooring work, was also an excellent cook. The family requested that, in lieu of flowers, monetary donations be made to the family.
