Church Point, LA:     Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday, January 14, 2023 at Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Church Point, LA for Frances Nelma McBride Fontenot, 92, the daughter of the late George "Jack" McBride and Lillian Richard McBride. Mrs. Fontenot, a long-time resident of Church Point, died Thursday morning, January 12 at her residence. Rev. Father Brian Harrington, pastor of the church, will conduct the services with entombment following in the Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Mausoleum on Hwy 35 north of Church Point.

Survivors include three sons: Reginald of Church Point and Rufus Fontenot, Jr. and Richard (Violy) of Lafayette, LA; two daughters, Mona Blakeway (Bill) of Slidell, LA and Tina Broussard (Matt) of Lafayette; a son-in-law, John Turner of Slidell; five grandchildren: Andrea Imms (Brady), Ben Turner (Kendall), Lezia Boudreaux (Chris), Chris Turner and Lauryn Broussard; four great-grandchildren; two brothers, Patrick McBride (Judy) and Kenneth McBride; two sisters, Anna Joyce Stutes and Jackie Vautrot; four sisters-in-law: Martha Bordelon, Betty Thibodeaux(Herman), Patsy Blum (Dan) and Bonnie Hooper and a brother-in-law, Jake Fontenot. She was preceded in death by her husband of 39 years, Rufus Fontenot, Sr., a daughter, Carla Turner; two brothers, Richard and John Dennis McBride and two sisters, Delores Gamble and Mary Ann Andrus.

The family requested that visiting hours be observed at Guidry Funeral Home from 9:00 AM until the time of the services on Saturday. A recitation of the Rosary will be held there at 1:00 PM by Deacon Byrne Winn. Mrs. Fontenot, an employee of Church Point Bank and Trust from 1965 until she retired in 1990, was truly loved and will be missed by all who knew her.
