Funeral Services will be held 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, June 22, 2011 at Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Church Point, La. for Floyd Anthony "Peppy" Carmello, 44. Mr. Carmello, a long-time resident of Church Point and currently living in Carencro, La., died late Saturday evening, June 18 in an automobile accident in Lafayette Parish. Father Gary Schexnayder will conduct the services with interment following in the Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Cemetery on Highway 35 north of Church Point.

Survivors include his mother, Patsy Briscoe Landry and stepfather Gerald Landry of Church Point; three sons, Floyd Florence, Trey Thomas and Kyle Anthony Carmello-all of Church Point; three brothers, Jerome, Jason and Guy Landry-all of Church Point; six sisters: Florence Ann Guidry of Lake Charles, La., Sandy Brasseaux of Church Point, Tina Key of Athens, Ala., Carla Salinas and Tammy Guidry of Carencro and Jill Citizen of Lafayette, La. He is also survived by the mother of his children, Linda Savoie Carmello of Church Point.

He was preceded in death by his father, Floyd Florence Carmello.

The family requested that visiting hours be observed beginning at 10:00 A.M. Tuesday, June 21 and continue uninterrupted until the time of the services on Wednesday. A recitation of the Rosary will be held at 7:00 P.M. on Tuesday by Deacon Bryne Winn.

"Peppy", as he was popularly known, was an accomplished accordion player and singer who loved music and his family.
