Church Point, LA: Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM Monday, September 8, 2025 at Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Church Point, LA for Florine W. Daigle, 89, the former Florine Wimberley. Mrs. Daigle, a life-long resident of Church Point, died Thursday afternoon, September 4 at her residence. Fr. Brian Harrington, Pastor of the Church, will conduct the Services with Entombment immediately following in the OLSH Mausoleum adjacent to the Church.
Survivors include her daughters, Jan Alleman and husband Don of Rayne, LA and Sylvia Doucet and husband Gary and Tricia Lyons and husband David-all of Church Point; a son, Jeff Daigle and wife Rhonda of Church Point; her grandchildren: Meghan Alleman Hessler, Mark Alleman, Andrea Doucet Johnson, Justin Doucet, Jeff Michael Daigle and Kyle and Lindsey Lyons; nine great-grandchildren; her sisters, Gertrude Broach of Church Point and Linda Champion and husband Nick of Baton Rouge, LA and her brothers: Lee Wimberley and wife Hope of Church Point, Rick Wimberley and wife Saundra of Youngsville, LA, Charles Wimberley and wife Lola of Mount Hermon, LA and Chester Wimberley and wife Doreen of Eunice, LA. She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph Lee and Lilly Richard Wimberley; her husband, Edgar David Daigle and her brothers, Roy, Joe and Benny Wimberley.
Visitation will be held at Guidry Funeral Home from 4:00 PM until 9:00 PM on Sunday, September 7 and continue from 8:00 AM until the time of Services on Monday. A Rosary will be recited at 6:30 PM Sunday by Fr. Harrington.
A devout, generous, family-oriented member of two of the prominent families of Church Point; Mrs. Daigle was an owner-manager of Daigle Department Store and a member of the Catholic Daughters for a number of years. Traveling was her passion. Truly loved, she will be missed by all who knew her. The family wishes to thank her caregivers, Kayla Estilette, Linda Boudreaux and Grace Labbie.
