Church Point, LA:     Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 PM Saturday, August 17, 2024 at Guidry Funeral Home in Church Point, LA for Evelyn Bourgeois, 76, the former Evelyn Matte. Mrs. Bourgeois, a long-time resident of St. Landry Parish near Church Point, died Wednesday evening, August 14 at her residence. Pastor Ricky Bearb will conduct the Services with Interment immediately following in the Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Cemetery on Hwy 35 north of Church Point.

Survivors include her daughters, Tammy Gaines and husband Tommy of Slidell, LA and Cherie Randolph and husband Greg of Scott, LA; her sons, Tony Bourgeois of Lafayette, LA and Michael Bourgeois and wife Erica of Breaux Bridge, LA; 14 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren; her sisters: Marilyn Simon of Richard, LA, Bonnie Lambert and Karron Lalonde and husband Bill-all of Church Point, Candy Leger of Church Point and companion Wade Latiolais of Youngsville, LA and Sharron Ledoux and husband Mark of Iota, LA and her brothers, Pat Matte and wife Pam of Church Point and Peter Matte and companion Judy Richard of Robert's Cove, LA. She was preceded in death by her husband, Carl Bourgeois; her parents, Vorace and Beulah LeJeune Matte; a granddaughter, Kristen Gaines and a brother, Wayne Matte.

Visitation will be held at Guidry Funeral Home from 9:00 AM until 9:00 PM on Friday, August 16 and continue from 8:00 AM Saturday until time of Services.

An LPN at Acadia-St. Landry Hospital for a number of years; Mrs. Bourgeois was a hard-working and loving wife, mother and grandmother. Truly loved, she will be missed by all who knew her.
