Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Thursday, September 15, 2016 at Our Lady of the Sacred Heart in Church Point, LA for Eunice Richard, 98. Mrs. Eunice died Saturday, September 10, 2016 at Pelican Pointe Nursing Home in Maurice, LA. Msgr. Jefferson Deblanc will conduct the services with entombment following in Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Mausoleum adjacent to the church. Survivors include one daughter, Lucretia R. Manuel and husband Robert of Lafayette, LA; three sons, Gaynor Richard and companion June Thompson of Branch, LA, Krane Richard and wife Verlie of Church Point and Michael Richard and wife Barbara of Pineville, LA; 13 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Clopha and Rose Miller Comeaux; her husband, Clarence L. Richard; one daughter, Karen Sonnier; one granddaughter, Ashley Manuel; one sister, Agatha Miller and four brothers, John, Alex, Hughus and Mark Comeaux.
The family requested that visiting hours be observed at Guidry Funeral Home from 3:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Wednesday, September 14 and continue from 9:00 AM Thursday until time of the services. A rosary will be recited in the funeral home on Wednesday evening at 7:00 PM. The family would like to extend a 'heartfelt thank you' to the staff of Pelican Pointe Nursing Home and Community Hospice, especially Beth Mount. Pallbearers will be Garrett Manuel, Jeff Maddox, Larry Thibodeaux, Greg and Nicholas Richard and Andre Hebert. A devoted mother, grandmother and homemaker, Mrs. Eunice was a Nurse's Assistant for a number of years.
