Church Point, La. Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 A.M. Wednesday, May 9, 2012 at Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Church Point, La. for Eula Mae Bergeron, 71, the former Eula Mae Miller. Mrs. Bergeron, a native of Church Point and a resident of Carencro, La., died at 8:42 P.M. Saturday, May 5 at Evangeline Oaks Guest House in Carencro. Monsignor Jefferson J. DeBlanc will conduct the services with interment following in Bellevue Memorial Cemetery on Highway 182 south of Opelousas, La.
Survivors include her former husband and father of her children, Vernon J. Bergeron of Carencro; a son Kendrick Joseph Bergeron and wife Cathy of Carencro; two daughters, Vera Ann Bergeron of Carencro and Sybil Marie Lavergne and husband Eugene of Sunset, La.; four brothers: Nolton, Jr. and Gervin Miller of Church Point, Earlin Miller of Lafayette, La. and Wilson Miller of Metairie, La.; a sister, Janell Thibodeaux of Lafayette; two grandchildren, Megan Lynn and Lacey Dawn Thibodeaux of Carencro; a great-grandson, Kaaryn Dean Thibodeaux of Carencro; four step grandchildren and ten step great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Nolton, Sr. and Edvina (Lyons) Miller and a grandson, James Dean Thibodeaux.
The family requested that visiting hours be observed from 9:00 A.M. until 10:00 P.M. on Tuesday, May 8 and continue from 8:00 A.M. Wednesday until the time of the services. A recitation of the Rosary will be held at 7:30 P.M. on Tuesday by Monsignor DeBlanc.
An employee of Heymann's Department Store in Lafayette for some seventeen years, Mrs. Bergeron was the former owner and manager of Eula's Country Kitchen on Main Street in Church Point and a former member of the Church Point Chamber of Commerce. Prior to retirement, she worked at Carencro Building Supply in Carencro.
