Church Point, LA:      A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 AM Tuesday, June 25, 2024 at Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Church Point, LA for Mr. Eric J. Courville, 92, who passed away at 2:30 AM Saturday, June 22 at Mercy Regional Medical Center in Ville Platte. Fr. Mitchell Guidry, Pastor of St. Leo IV Catholic Church, will be the Celebrant of the Mass and will conduct the Burial Rite immediately following the Mass in the Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Cemetery on Hwy 35.

Eric, a resident of Church Point, was the son of the late Charles Courville and the former Clothile Darby. A United States Army Veteran, a member of VFW Post 9903 and of American Legion Post 225; Mr. Courville was the owner operator of Eric's Bar in Church Point and in the bar business for 43 years. A loving husband, father and grandfather; he will be missed by all who knew him.
He is survived by two daughters, Debbie Darbonne and husband Harold and Michelle Latiolais and husband Tommy-all of Church Point; four sons: James Nelson Courville and wife Pam, Chad Courville and wife Tammy and Kevin Courville-all of Church Point and Ronald Courville and wife Jeanine of Morgan City, LA; nineteen grandchildren; twenty-eight great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild and one brother, Harold Courville of Lafayette, LA. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife of 68 years, Virgie Mae Cary Courville; one daughter, Marie Courville and one brother, Lloyd Courville.

The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Guidry Funeral Home on Monday, June 24, from 4:00 PM until 9:00 PM and continue on Tuesday from 8:00 AM until the time of the Funeral Mass.  A Rosary will be recited in the funeral home Monday evening at 7:00 PM.
