Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, July 27, 2011 at Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Church Point for Emma Marie Guidry, 76, the former Emma Marie Vidrine. Mrs. Guidry, a native of Opelousas, La. and long-time resident of Church Point, died at 9:35 A.M. Monday, July 25 at St. Landry Extended Care Hospital in Opelousas. Father Brad Guillory will conduct the services with interment following in the Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Cemetery on Highway 35 north of Church Point.

Survivors include four sons: Curley Guidry III and wife Annette, Marcus Dwayne Guidry, Richard L. Guidry and wife Veronica and Kevin L. Guidry-all of Church Point; a daughter, Melissa G. Higginbotham and husband Thomas of Church Point; a brother, Ivan Vidrine of Lafayette, La.; two sisters, Joyce Hernandez of Fla. and Bonnie Robin of Broussard, La.; eleven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Curley "Doc" Guidry, Jr.; her parents, Octave and Lovenia (O'Connor) Vidrine; two brothers, Calvin and Andrew Vidrine and three sisters, Clara Fontenot, Verna Latiolais and Velma "Vel" Curran.

The family requested that visiting hours be observed from 10:00 A.M. until 10:00 P.M. on Tuesday, July 26 and continue from 8:00 A.M. Wednesday until the time of the services.

A recitation of the Rosary will be held at 7:00 P.M. on Tuesday by Father Guillory.
