Church Point, La. Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 P.M. Friday, September 25, 2009 at Guidry Funeral Home, Church Point for Emery Roberie, Jr., 66. Mr. Roberie, a native of Grand Prairie, La. and a long-time resident of rural St. Landry parish, died at 3:45 A.M. Wednesday, September 23 at his residence near Church Point. Father Gregory Chauvin will conduct the services with interment following in the Monsignor Bienvenu Cemetery; Highway 35, Church Point.
Survivors include his wife, Violet Janise Roberie of Church Point; two sons, Scottie Roberie and wife Vickie and Joey Roberie and wife Elizabeth-all of Church Point; a daughter, Rachel Roberie of Church Point; three brothers: James Roberie of Port Barre, La., Sherron Roberie of Washington, La. and Bradley Roberie of Grand Prairie, La.; three sisters: Bernadese "Dese" Thibodeaux and Becky Thibodeaux-both of Eunice, La. and Joy Ortego of Washington, La. He is also survived by five grandchildren: Juliette, Andria-Claire, Isabella, Brittany and Shawna Roberie.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Emery, Sr. and Edna Vidrine Roberie; a brother, Bruce Roberie and a sister, Faye Roberie.
The family requested that visiting hours be observed from 10;00 A.M. until 10:00P.M. on Thursday, September 24 and continue from 9:00 A.M. until the time of the services. A recitation of the Rosary will be held at 7:00 P.M. on Thursday by Deacon Jim Cormier.
Mr. Roberie was employed in the oilfield industry for over forty-three years.
