Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 P.M. Sunday, May 22, 2011 at St. Edward Catholic Church in Richard, La. for Mrs. Elzia (Aline) Matte, 81, the former Aline Matte. Mrs. Matte, a native and long-time resident of rural Acadia Parish (near Richard), died at 10:27 A.M. Friday, May 20 at her residence. Father Wayne Duet will conduct the services with interment following in the St. Edward Cemetery in Richard.

Survivors include five sons: Jimmy Matte and wife Mary (Castille) and Gary Matte and wife Laura (Matte)-all of Richard, La., Wayne Matte and wife Florence (Castille) of Welch, La., Michael Matte and wife Brenda (Matte) and Glenn Matte-all of Church Point; three daughters: Dorothy M. Bergeron and husband Jess Bergeron, Jr. of Houma, La., Marie M. Mire and husband Dewey of Lawtell, La. and Sandra M. Duplechain of Richard; a brother, C.J. Matte and wife Bertha (Boone) of Richard; a sister, Irene M. Courville of Morgan City, La.; twenty grandchildren, twenty-one great-grandchildren, two step grandchildren and three step great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Elzia Matte; a sister, Cecile M. Matte and her parents, Willis and Orelia Thibodeaux Matte.

The family requested that visiting hours be observed from 11:00 A.M. until 9:00 P.M. on Saturday, May 21 and continue from 9:00 A.M. Sunday until the time of the services.

A recitation of the Rosary will be held at 7:00 P.M. Saturday.
