Church Point, LA:     Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 P.M. Thursday, October 24, 2019 at Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Church Point, LA for Ella Mae McBride Matte, 92. Mrs. Matte, a native and currently a resident of Church Point, died Monday afternoon, October 21 at her residence. Reverend Patrick Broussard will conduct the services and the interment following in the Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Mausoleum on Hwy 35 north of Church Point.

Survivors include two sons, Joseph Rogers Elkins and Rodney Elkins and wife Dania-all of Church Point; a daughter, Bonnie Belle Matte of Sunset, LA; sixteen grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Alfred and Emalina Comeaux McBride; a husband, Elvie Matte; a son, James Ronald Matte and a daughter, Donna Matte Espree.

The family requested that visiting hours be observed at Guidry Funeral Home from 8:00 A.M. Thursday until the time of the services. A rosary will be recited at 12:00 P.M. by Deacon Jerry Wyble.

A hard-working, devoutly Catholic member of the American Legion Auxiliary and Ladies Altar Society who was truly loved; Mrs. Matte will be sadly missed by her extended family and friends. Arrangements are being handled by Guidry Funeral Home, Inc.; 219 N. Broadway, Church Point, LA (337) 684-5488.
