Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 A.M. Monday, March 24, 2008 at St. Bridget Catholic Church; Lawtell, La. for Ella Marie F. Arceneaux, 86, the former Ella Marie Fontenot. Mrs. Arceneaux died at 7:25 A.M. Tuesday, March 18, 2008 at Opelousas General Hospital; Opelousas, La. She was a resident of Swords and a native of Church Point, La. Father Dan Picard will conduct the services with entombment following in the St. Bridget Catholic Mausoleum, Lawtell.
Survivors include six sons: Charles Arceneaux and wife Jane of Erwinville, La.; Donald Arceneaux and wife Pamela of Austin, Tx.; Wayne Arceneaux and wife Gayle, Ted Arceneaux and wife Paula and Danny Arceneaux- all of Opelousas, La. and Ferdie "Brother" Arceneaux, Jr. and wife Connie of Swords, La.; four daughters: Lois Fontenot and husband Rollis of Plaisance, La.; Bernadine Comeaux and husband Roy of Swords, La.; Margaret Timmons and husband Johnny of Lawtell, La. and Cathy Carriere and husband Murphy "Junior" of Opelousas, La.; a sister, Theresa Arceneaux of Church Point, La.; two brothers: Francis "Boy" Fontenot of Opelousas and Daniel Fontenot, Jr. of Baton Rouge, La. She is also survived by 26 grandchildren and 40 great-grandchildren. Her grandsons will serve as Pallbearers.
She was preceded in death by her husband, F. Ferdie Arceneaux, Sr.; her parents, Daniel, Sr. and Clothile Thibodeaux Fontenot; five brothers, a sister and two grandchildren: infant Dana Comeaux and Toby Timmons.
The family requested that visiting hours be observed from 10:00 A.M. until 10:00 P.M. on Sunday, March 23, 2008 and continue from 8:00 A.M. until the time of the services on Monday.
A recitation of the Rosary will be held at 7:30 P.M. on Sunday.
