Church Point, LA:      A Private Graveside Service will be held on Saturday, January 14, 2023 in the Our Mother of Mercy Cemetery in Church Point, LA for Elgee Kennedy, 82. Mr. Kennedy, a native of Mire, LA and long-time resident of Church Point, died Friday night, January 6 at Calcutta House in Lafayette, LA. Robert Kennedy, Mr. Kennedy's son, will conduct the private service with interment immediately following.

Survivors include his daughters, Rachelle Kennedy and husband Gill Gilliam of Freeport, IL, Louisa Kennedy and husband Jim Francis of Lewisville, TX and Shawn Jackson of Rayne, LA; his sons: Elgee J. Kennedy and Nelson Kennedy, both of Rockford, IL, Robert Kennedy and wife Gwendolyn of Youngsville, LA and Drew Senegal of Atlanta, GA and nine grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Francois and Agnes Gotch Kennedy; his wife, Agnes Handy Kennedy and a son, Nathan Kennedy.

The family requested that visiting hours be observed at Guidry Funeral Home from 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM on Friday, January 13 . Mr. Kennedy, a farmer in the Church Point community for many years, was truly loved and will be missed by all who knew him. Arrangements are being handled by Guidry Funeral Home, Inc.; 219 N.
