Church Point, LA:         A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 3:00 PM Friday, March 25, 2022 at Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Church Point, LA for Eldine Jagneaux Hanks, 88, the former Marie Eldine Jagneaux. Mrs. Hanks, born in Church Point, passed away Monday morning, March 21 at her son's residence in St. Landry Parish. Rev. Father Brian Harrington, pastor of the church, will be the celebrant of the Mass and entombment will be in the Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Mausoleum on Hwy 35 north of Church Point.

She is survived by her sons, Joseph Meche of DeQuincy, LA and James Warren Meche and wife "Cam" of Opelousas, LA; her daughters: Debbie Foreman and husband Clyde of Indian Bayou, LA, Dianna Hanks Goodwin of Scott, LA, Deanna Marie Meche of Opelousas and Judy Comeaux Grizzle and husband Paul of Church Point; nine grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Clebert Jagneaux and Clothile Richard Jagneaux; her husband, Elton John Hanks and a son, Donald Meche.

The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Guidry Funeral Home from 3:00 PM until 10:00 PM on Thursday, March 24 and continue from 8:00 AM Friday until the time of services. A rosary will be recited in the funeral home at 7:00 PM Thursday by Deacon Byrne Winn. A devout, hard-working and loving wife, mother and grandmother; Mrs. Hanks will truly be missed by all who knew her. Guidry Funeral Home, 219 N.
