Church Point, LA:         A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 AM Monday, September 13, 2021 at Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Church Point, LA for Elaine Lejeune, 73, the former Elaine Cormier. Mrs. Lejeune, a native and lifetime resident of Church Point, passed away Thursday, September 9 at Acadia-St. Landry Hospital in Church Point. Reverend Father Père Rozas, parochial vicar of the church, will be the celebrant of the Mass and entombment will be in the Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Mausoleum adjacent to the church.

She is survived by her husband, Joseph Gilbert Lejeune of Church Point; her sons, Kenneth Boudreaux of Church Point and Scotty Boudreaux and wife Kathy of Sunset, LA; her daughters, Angela Bourgeois and Tina Lavergne and husband Eric-all of Church Point; a sister, Jeanette Fusilier and husband J.B. of Eunice, LA; her grandchildren: Sedonia, Matthew and Keith Shepard; Dayna Lavergne, Ashley Lejeune, Abbie Bourgeois and Mica and Erica Boudreaux and her great-grandchildren: M.J. and Donna Shepard; Katrina Bourque, Jayvon Francis and Brooklyn Simon. She was preceded in death by her parents, Martin and Orfleze Matte Cormier; two daughters, Patricia and Pamela Boudreaux; a sister, Genevieve "GG" Sonnier and a son-in-law, Charles Keith Bourgeois.

The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Guidry Funeral Home from 10:00 AM until 9:00 PM on Sunday, September 12 and continue from 8:00 AM Monday until the time of services. A rosary will be recited in the funeral home at 7:00 PM Sunday by Deacon Byrne Winn. Pallbearers will be Matthew, M.J., and Keith Shepard; Jayvon Francis, Ashley Lejeune and Andrew Leblanc. A hard-working, devoted mother and grandmother; Mrs. Lejeune was loved and will be missed by all who knew her. Guidry Funeral Home, 219 N. Broadway St., Church Point, LA is in charge of final arrangements.
