Church Point, La. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Saturday, September 3, 2011 at Guidry Funeral Home in Church Point, La. for Edward Burleigh, Jr.; 50. Mr. Burleigh, a native and long-time resident of Church Point, died at 1:15 A.M. Friday, September 2 at his residence. Monsignor Jefferson J. DeBlanc will conduct the services with interment following in the Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Cemetery on Highway 35 north of Church Point.

Survivors include his mother, Anne R. Burleigh of Church Point; his brother, Jerry Burleigh of Church Point; five sisters: Mary Jagneaux and companion Chas Parsons, Adelina Burleigh and companion Merlin McBride, Betty Lejeune, Nellie and husband Darby Olivier-all of Church Point and Lucy and husband Chuck Guidry of Scott, La.; six nieces, five nephews, five great-nieces and six great-nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father, Edward Burleigh, Sr.

The family requested that visiting hours be observed from 10:00 A.M. Saturday until the time of the services.

The family would like to thank Hospice of Acadiana and everyone who helped in his care.
