Church Point, LA: Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM Wednesday, May 10 at Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Church Point, LA for Louis Earl Guilbeau, 92. Mr. Guilbeau, a native of Opelousas, LA and resident of Church Point, died Sunday morning, May 7 at Calcutta House Hospice in Lafayette, LA. Father Mark Thibodeaux will conduct the services with interment following in the Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Mausoleum on Hwy 35 north of Church Point.

Survivors include his beloved wife of 64 years, Eldine Cormier Guilbeau; his children: Ann G. Guidry (Buddy), Cathy G. Colligan (Dallas), Thomas E. Guilbeau (Vicki) and Derek Guilbeau; his grandchildren: Nicholas, Andrew and Claudia Colligan; Ben Guidry and Haley G. Hersh and Emma, Ethan and Aidan Guilbeau and one great-grandchild, Collins Elizabeth Hersh. He was preceded in death by his parents, Edgar and Melanie Darbonne Guilbeau and his son, David Guilbeau. The family requested that visiting hours be observed at Guidry Funeral Home from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Tuesday, May 9 and continue from 8:00 AM Wednesday until the time of services. A recitation of the Rosary will be held there at 7:00 PM. A US Army veteran of the Korean War, Mr. Guilbeau retired at the age of 83 after 30 years of service with Gianfala and Son. He enjoyed fishing and hunting and ending his day with a glass of wine with his wife and whoever else was around. S o proud of his children and grandchildren; his family meant the world to him. A past member of the Knights of Columbus and VFW, Mr. Guilbeau will be honored with a Flag Presentation at the time of services. Arrangements are being handled by Guidry Funeral Home, Inc.; 219 N.
