Church Point, La. Funeral Services were held at 2:00 P.M. Sunday, August 2, 2009 at Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Church Point for Dorothy Jane "Dot" Castille Robinson, 64, the former Dorothy Jane Castille. Mrs. Robinson, a native and life-long resident of Lawtell, died at 8:55 A.M. Thursday, July 30 at LSU Medical Center; New Orleans, La. of complications of heart surgery. Father Gregory Chauvin conducted the services with interment following in the Monsignor Bienvenu Cemetery; Highway 35, Church Point.
Left to cherish her memory are her husband, Larry Robinson of Lawtell; a son, Stephen Robinson and wife Germaine of Church Point; two daughters, Stephanie Reynolds and husband Phillip of Lake Charles, La. and Stacy Tucker of Opelousas, La.; seven grandchildren: Blake, Peet, Katie, Kaleb, Garrett, Stevie and Jack; five brothers: Elgie Castille and his late wife Mathilda, Carol Castille and wife Doris, Gurphy Castille and wife Theresa, Murphy Castille and wife Judy and Andrew; five sisters: Angie Stanford and husband Ira, Shirley Olivier and husband Terlin, Linda Babineaux and husband Daniel, Carolyn Faul and husband Dave and Tammy Prudhomme and husband Kenneth-all of Lawtell as well as many, many family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Joel and Lilly Mae Richard Castille; a sister, Jo Ann and a brother, Joel, Jr.
The family requested that visiting hours be observed from 12:00 noon until 10:00 P.M. on Saturday, August 1 and continue from 8:00 A.M. Sunday until the time of the services. A recitation of the Rosary was held at 7:00 P.M. on Saturday.
A Lay Minister of St. Bridget's Catholic Church, Lawtell; "Dot" was a true example of God's Love. Anyone who met her loved her and she loved everyone. She knew no stranger. Known to be the cornerstone of a very large family, she was the information source of her community.
