Obituary

Church Point, LA:         A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 AM Friday, December 17, 2021 at Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Church Point, LA for Donald James LeJeune, 64. Mr. Lejeune, a native and lifetime resident of Church Point, passed away Monday morning, December 13 at his residence. Father Brian Harrington, pastor of the church, will be the celebrant of the Mass and entombment will be in the Monsignor Bienvenu Mausoleum on Hwy 35 north of Church Point.

He is survived by his wife, Claire L. LeJeune of Church Point; his daughters, Emily Ostos of Duluth, MN and Courtney Jennings and husband Kurt of Port Barre, LA; his grandchildren: Madison, Gavin and John Jennings; a nephew, Charles Lejeune and wife Crystal of Eunice, LA; his great-nephews: Tyler, Bryan and Noah Lejeune; his sisters-in-law: Mim Didier and husband Lenny of Hot Springs, AR, Doe Sparks and husband Jim of Bella Vista, AR and Diane Rogers and husband Kris of round Rock, TX and his brothers-in-law, Jim LeBlanc of Mandeville, LA and Don LeBlanc and wife Dottie of Moss Bluff, LA. He was preceded in death by his parents, Horace and Mary Alice LeJeune; his mother-in-law, Joyce LeBlanc; a brother, Ronald and his wife Dorothy LeJeune; a nephew, Gary Andrus and a brother-in-law, Bob Guillory.

The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Guidry Funeral Home from 2:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Thursday, December 16 and continue from 9:00 AM Friday until the time of services. A rosary will be recited in the funeral home at 7:00 PM Thursday by Deacon Doug Wimberly and the Knights of Columbus. Pallbearers will be Kermit "Bubba" Richard, James Herman Daigle, Don LeBlanc, Kurt Jennings, Ronald Venable and Bryan Lejeune. Known to many as "Big Guy" and "Spucky"; Mr. LeJeune worked for Winn Dixie for forty-five years, was an usher at Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Church for thirty-five years, a 4th Degree Knight of K of C Council 2504 and was a Church Point city councilman for four years.
