Church Point, La. Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 P.M. Friday, January 13, 2012 at the Church of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary in Mire, La. for Dinah Faye Johnson, 49, the former Dinah Faye Bourque. Mrs. Johnson, a native of Mire, La. and long-time resident of Higginbotham, La., died at 5:55 P.M. Tuesday, January 10 at her residence. Monsignor Russell Harrington will conduct the services with entombment following in the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Mausoleum adjacent to the church.
Survivors include her mother, Deanna Romero of Mire, La.; her husband and daughter, Blaine and Hailey Johnson of Higginbotham; her brothers: Gene Bourque of Mire, Wendell Bourque of Indian Bayou, La., Jody Thompson of Houston, Tex. and Jonathan Shuler of Anacoco, La. and two sisters, Terri Bourque of Mire and Hope Conques of Lafayette, La..
She was preceded in death by her fathers, Jerry Lee Bourque and Johnny Thompson; her paternal grandparents, Hubert and Lena (Meche) Bourque and her maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Drozen Broussard.
The family requested that visiting hours be observed from 11:00 A.M until 10:00 P.M. on Thursday, January 12 and continue from 8:00 A.M. Friday until the time of the services. A recitation of the Rosary will be held at 7:00 P.M. on Thursday by Deacon Bryne Winn.
Pallbearers will be Clayton Lormand, Earl, Jason, and Coby Johnson, Gene Bourque and Terry Prejean. Honorary pallbearers will be Wendell Bourque and Dale and Wayne Johnson.
An employee of Interco Tire Company of Rayne, La., Mrs. Johnson was a volunteer with the Girl Scouts of America for a number of years.
