Denise Imilda Comeaux Arceneaux passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Friday, July 15, 2022 in New Roads, LA at the age of 90. Denise was affectionately known to most as "Maw Dean." She will be best remembered for her excellent cooking, large holiday gatherings, her kind, gentle demeanor, and her quick wit. To know her, was to love her. She had a deep love for her family, and she will be greatly missed. Denise was founder and co-owner of Hawk's Crawfish Restaurant along with her husband, L.H. "Hawk" Arceneaux. She spent many years feeding the community her famous etouffee and purged, boiled crawfish. Denise is survived by her children: Dr. James Arceneaux and wife Sunny of Natchitoches, Myra Arceneaux Pavich of Eunice, Anthony Arceneaux and wife Jennifer of Rayne, Sheila Arceneaux Ramagos of New Roads, and son in law David Glenn Guidry of New Roads. Her grandchildren and spouses: Kadie Guidry Fabre and James of Ventress, Megan Arceneaux and Ashley of Lafayette, Kyle Guidry of New Roads, and Lazo Pavich of Eunice. Her great granddaughters: Madisen Claire Fabre and Baylie Neal Fabre of Ventress. Denise is preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, L.H. "Hawk" Arceneaux, daughter Mona Claire Arceneaux Guidry, sons in law Dr. Russell Pavich and Kenneth "Rock" Ramagos and her parents and siblings. Pallbearers will be Dr. James Arceneaux, Anthony Arceneaux, Glenn Guidry, Kyle Guidry, James Fabre, and Byron Beard. Honorary pallbearer is Lazo Pavich. Visitation will be held at Guidry Funeral Home in Church Point, LA on Tuesday, July 19, 2022 from 9 AM until time of service at 2 PM. Burial will follow at Maxie Cemetery. The family would like to express special thanks to the following: Jennifer Arceneaux- for always being there for Maw Dean. Sheila Fontenot- for being a dedicated employee for over 40 years and treating Maw Dean like family. Faye Smith, Michelle Jones, Angie Swift and all her caregivers who provided comfort and gentle care to Maw Dean in her last days. Also, a thank you to Dr. Randy Miller, Dr. Ashley Bordelon, Pointe Coupee Home Health & Hospice, and the staff of Lakeview Manor.
