Church Point, La. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Thursday, August 25, 2011 at Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Church Point for Delia Thibodeaux, 85, the former Delia Henry. Mrs. Thibodeaux, a native and life-long resident of Church Point, died at 3:30 A.M. Tuesday, August 23 at Maison de Lafayette; Lafayette, La. Monsignor Jefferson J. DeBlanc will conduct the services with entombment following in the Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Mausoleum on Highway 35 north of Church Point.
Survivors include two daughters, Jan Stelly and husband Merrick of Breaux Bridge, La. and Nancy Domingue and husband Gene of Judice, La.; a brother, Colbert Henry, Jr. of Opelousas, La.; four sisters: Pearl Johnson of Church Point, Glenney Thibodeaux of Jennings, La., Lela Stelly of Grand Coteau, La. and Theresa Nevle of Huntsville, Tex.; four grandchildren: Heath Babineaux, Trent Stelly, Amber Trett and Abby Domingue and five great-grandchildren: Courtney Robin, Blake Babineaux, Hayden Stelly and Tanner and Finley Trett.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Colbert and Angel (Daigle) Henry, Sr. and a daughter, Patricia Stelly.
The family requested that visiting hours be observed from 10:00 A.M. until 9:00 P.M. on Wednesday, August 24 and continue from 8:00 A.M. Thursday until the time of the services. A recitation of the Rosary will be held at 7:00 P.M. on Wednesday by Deacon Bryne Winn.
Well-known in the Church Point area, Mrs. Thibodeaux was a cashier and bookkeeper at Fontenot and Guidry Department Store for many years.
