Church Point, LA:     A Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 PM Tuesday, April 1, 2025 at Guidry Funeral Home in Church Point, LA for James Darell Bellard, 75. Mr. Bellard, a native of Church Point and resident of Youngsville, LA, died Friday evening, March 28 at his residence. Père David Rozas will conduct the Service; Interment will immediately follow in the Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Cemetery on Hwy 35.

Survivors include the "love of his life" and wife of 52 years, Belinda Matte Bellard of Youngsville; a daughter, Natasha Bellard of Youngsville; a son, Ian Bellard and girlfriend Celeste Barry of Church Point; his grandchildren: Hunter, T.J. and Lauren Sonnier, Hayden, Leah and Ava Humphrey and Parish Boudreaux and a brother, Marcus Bellard and wife Nicole of Church Point. He was preceded in death by his parents, Louis and Thelma Matte Bellard; his brothers, Larry Dale and Carl Bellard and a sister, Delores Richard.

Visitation will be held at Guidry Funeral Home from 11:00 AM until 9:00 PM on Monday March 31 and continue from 10:00 AM Tuesday until the time of Service. A Rosary will be recited at 6:00 PM Monday by Deacon Byrne Winn. Pallbearers will be Ian Bellard, Hayden Humphrey, Brad Lavergne, Beau Bellard, Brandon Soileau, Alec Matte, Hunter Sonnier and Bert Daigle.

A U.S. Army veteran of Viet Nam and an employee of Bell South for 36 years; Mr. Bellard enjoyed sports, playing golf and watching his granddaughters playing volleyball and his grandson playing saxophone and guitar. He truly loved being called "Poppa".
