Church Point, LA: Funeral Services will be held at 1:30 P.M Saturday, May 16, 2020 at Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Church Point, LA for Daniel J. Lapoint, 62. Mr. Lapoint, a long-time resident of Church Point, died Thursday morning, May 14 at his residence. Reverend Patrick Broussard, pastor of the church, will conduct the services with entombment following in the Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Mausoleum on Hwy 35 north of Church Point.

Survivors include his mother, Ethel Huval Lapoint of Lafayette, LA; his daughters, Leah Lapoint Savoy and husband Matthew and Lori Lapoint Sonnier and husband Brent-all of Church Point; his brothers, Wayne Lapoint and wife Maxine and David Lapoint and companion Lynn-all of Broussard, LA; two sisters, Linda Lapoint Webb of Lafayette and Elizabeth Lapoint Gerard and husband Mike of Milton, LA; his anticipated grandchild, "Baby Savoy" and his extended family and friends. He was preceded in death by his wife, Sonja Lapoint Guidry; his father, Dupre John Lapoint, Jr.; his paternal grandparents, Dupre John Lapoint, Sr. and Louella Lapoint and his maternal grandparents, Joe and Nanette Huval. Known by many as the "Bread Man", Mr. Lapoint was a distributor for Langlinais Bread for a number of years. A very giving, generous person who loved people; he "never met a stranger". His smile will never be forgotten. Visitation will be held at Guidry Funeral Home from 10:00 A.M. until time of services on Saturday with a recitation of the Rosary by Deacon Bryne Winn at 12:30 P.M.
