Church Point, LA:     Funeral Services will be held at 1:30 PM Tuesday, May 14, 2024 at Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Church Point, LA for Ronald Dale Bergeron, 71. Mr. Bergeron, a long-time resident of St. Landry Parish near Church Point, died Saturday afternoon, May 11 at his residence. Fr. Brian Harrington, Pastor of the Church, will conduct the Services with Interment immediately following in the OLSH Cemetery on Hwy 35 north of Church Point.

Survivors include his wife of 53 years, Bonnie Thibodeaux Bergeron of St. Landry Parish near Church Point; his sons, Jody Bergeron and wife Erica and Toby Bergeron and wife Brandi-all of Church Point; his grandchildren, Bailey Bergeron and fiancé Hannah and Gabi, Jadyn and Landen Bergeron and a brother, Mitch Bergeron and wife Lisa of Sunset, LA. He was preceded in death by his parents, Horace Bergeron and Bernice Smith Naquin; a sister, Gertie Martie and a brother, Gerald Tate.

Visitation will be held from 10:00 AM until 9:00 PM on Monday, May 13 and continue from 8:00 AM Tuesday until time of Services. A Rosary will be recited at 7:00 PM Monday by Deacon Byrne Winn. Pallbearers will be Jody, Toby, Mitchell and Bailey Bergeron; Glen Thibodeaux and Steve Doucet. Honorary pallbearers will be Landen Bergeron, Daylon Forman, James Cates and Jonathan Beard. Gift Bearers will be Gabi and Jadyn Bergeron; Vicki Thibodeaux will be the Reader.

A veteran of the LA Army National Guard and a St. Landry Parish Sheriff's Deputy for a number of years; Mr.  Bergeron was a loving husband, father and grandfather. An avid outdoorsman, he loved hunting, fishing, cooking and spending time on his patio. Truly loved, he will be missed by all who knew him.
