Dalbert John “Johnny” Daigle Sr. entered eternal rest on October 23, 2026, at age 84.
Johnny graduated from Church Point High School in 1961 and earned a degree in Business Administration from the University of Southwestern Louisiana in 1965. He then began a career with Crawford and Company Insurance Adjusters, where he worked for more than 35 years before retiring. An avid hunter and fisherman, Johnny spent many weekends at the hunting camp with family and friends. He enjoyed sharing dinner and a friendly game of dominoes with his brothers, playing Texas Hold ‘Em, and taking road trips to Gulf Coast casinos. He also loved cooking and was known for his delicious barbecue and catfish courtbouillon.
Guided by his steadfast faith, Johnny served as an usher at his hometown church, St. Edmund Chapel, and greatly enjoyed his involvement with the Elderberries. He was also a devoted member of the Knights of Columbus Monsignor Mollo Assembly, attaining the Fourth Degree and serving as a Sir Knight and active member of the Patriotic Order. Through his service, he exemplified faith and civic duty.
Johnny was preceded in death by his parents, Nolton and Nora Daigle, and his brothers, Joseph, Jackie, and Ricky. He is survived by Norma Doucet Daigle, his devoted wife of 63 years; his sons, Dalbert John Daigle Jr. and wife Tammy, and Jason Kendall Daigle and wife Jodie; his seven grandchildren, Amanda Daigle McCray and husband William, Isabelle, Lilly, Andre, Elliot, Quentin, and Caroline; and his two greatgrandchildren, Eva and William “Mac.”
Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, October 27, at St. Edmund Chapel in Branch, Louisiana, and the Rosary will be led by Johnny’s grandchildren at 12:30 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 1:00 p.m., with burial at St. Edmund Cemetery. Afterward, family and friends are invited to gather for refreshments in the Chapel Hall.
Johnny’s family finds peace in knowing that this good and faithful servant is rejoicing with the Lord in Heaven, free from earthly pain and burdens.
Arrangements are being handled by Guidry Funeral Home, Inc.; 219 N. Broadway, Church Point, LA.
