Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 A.M. Monday, September 8, 2008 at Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church; Church Point, La. for Mrs. Curtis Wimberly, 68 ,the former Gloria Lyons, who died at 5:50 P.M. Friday, September 5 at Our Lady of Lourdes Regional Medical Center; Lafayette, La. She was a resident of Carencro, La.; but a native of Church Point where she was employed by Our Mother of Peace Catholic School for over fifteen years. Monsignor Jefferson J. DeBlanc will conduct the services with interment following in the Monsignor Bienvenu Catholic Cemetery; Highway 35, Church Point.

Survivors include her husband, Curtis Wimberly of Carencro; three sons: Guy Jerome Wimberly and wife Pam of Church Point, Dave Shannon Wimberly and wife Alice of Houston, Tex. And John Clay Wimberly and wife Jeanette of Dayton, Tex.; two daughters: Sister Lucia "Phyllis" Wimberly of Washington, D.C. and Patrice Carrier and husband Kevin of Gonzales, La.; her parents, Ferdie and Louisiana Lyons of Church Point; two brothers: Kenneth Lyons of Church Point and Dwayne Lyons of Little Rock, Ark. and four sisters: Eloise David of Rayne, La., Norma Burleigh of Ragley, La., Elaine Nations of Iowa, La. and Debbie Mohajer of Spring, Tex. Mrs. Wimberly is also survived by six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

The family requested that visiting hours be observed from 10:00 A.M. until 9:00 P.M. on Sunday, September 7 and continue from 8:00 A.M. Monday until the time of the services. A recitation of the Rosary will be held at 7:00 P.M. on Sunday by Sister Lucia Wimberly.
