Church Point, LA: Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM Friday, May 8, 2026 at St. John Berchmans Catholic Church in Cankton, LA for Connie S. Cormier, 65, the former Connie Marie Savoy. Mrs. Cormier, a resident of Sunset in St. Landry Parish, died Tuesday evening, May 5 at the Our Lady of Lourdes ER in Scott, LA. Visitation will be held at Guidry Funeral Home from 11:00 AM until 9:00 PM on Thursday, May 7 and continue from 8:00 AM Friday until the time of the Services. A Rosary will be recited at 6:30 PM Thursday by Deacon Byrne Winn. Msgr. Russell Harrington, Pastor of the Church, will conduct the Services with Interment immediately following in the St. John Berchmans Cemetery adjacent to the Church. Pallbearers will be Dwayne and Kavin Savoy, Brennen and Jayden Smith and Kolden, Damian, Brennon and Kalyn Cormier.
Survivors include her husband and father, David Cormier and Hilton Savoy of Sunset; a daughter and son, Danielle Labbie and Husband Chad and Damian Cormier and wife Lori of Sunset; her grandchildren; Brennen, Jayden and Layla Smith, Kolden Cormier and Caitlyn and Adelyn Labbie; her sisters, Vanessa Cormier and companion Felix Romero of Sunset and Phyllis LeBlanc and husband “Pap” of Port Barre, LA and her brothers, Dwayne Savoy and Kavin Savoy and wife Angela of Sunset. She was preceded in death by her mother, Shirleen Roger Savoy and an infant daughter, Anne Cormier.
A self-employed babysitter for a number of years; Mrs. Cormier was a loving daughter, wife, mother, grandmother and sibling. Her pastimes were taking care of her grandchildren and tending to her flowerbeds. Truly loved, she will be missed by her extended family and all who knew her.
