Church Point, La. Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 A.M. Wednesday, June 24, 2009 at Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Church Point for Cody Paul Thibodeaux, 76. Mr. Thibodeaux, a native of Church Point and a resident of Maison De Ville, Opelousas, La. for sixteen years, died at 7:53 A.M. Sunday, June 21, 2009 at Opelousas General Hospital, Opelousas. Father Austin Leger will conduct the services with interment following in the Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Cemetery; Highway 35, Church Point.

Survivors include a sister, Fanny Savoie and husband Linton of Opelousas; five nieces and nephews: Richard Savoie and wife Karen of Baton Rouge, La., Sonia Cargile amd husband Michael of Big Canoe, Ga., Lucia Savoie of New Iberia, La., Adrian Savoie and Terri Kirkpatrick of Opelousas and Claudia Lucas and husband Bill of Youngsville, La. He is also survived by six great nieces and nephews: Katie and Brian Labbe, Andre and Erik Savoie, Abby Grimmett and William Lucas.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Leo B. and Angele Doucet Thibodeaux.

The family requested that visiting hours be observed from 6:00 P.M. until 10:00 P.M. Tuesday, June 23 and continue from 8:00 A.M. Wednesday until the time of the services. A recitation of the Rosary will be held at 7:00 P.M. on Tuesday by Father Leger.

A retired farmer, Mr. Thibodeaux enjoyed watching "B" Western movies and listening to Hank Williams, Sr. music. He also enjoyed singing and entertaining his fellow residents of Maison De Ville while waiting for meals, calling Bingo games and watching Rodeos on T.V.
