Church Point, LA:         A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, May 25, 2019 at Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Church Point, LA for Mr. Clifford James "C.J." Menard, 65, who passed away Wednesday, May 22 at Lafayette General Hospital. Msgr. Jefferson Deblanc will be the celebrant of the Mass with burial immediately following in Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery on Hwy 35 north of Church Point. C.J., a life-long resident of Church Point, born on September 19, 1953, was the son of the late Alcee Menard Sr. and Ruby Lavergne Menard. He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Jeanne Beaugh Menard; One son, Joshua Menard and wife Allison of Prairieville, LA; A daughter, Natalie Menard Lyttle and husband Steven of Rayne, LA; 6 grandchildren, Riley and Sadie Menard and Avery, Emma, Jackson, and Baby Lyttle; one brother, Alcee Menard Jr. and three sisters, Patricia Andrepont, Janell Lacombe, and Carmelita Menard. C.J. was the epitome of what an amazing husband, father, grandfather, and provider should be. His unconditional love for his family was evident in everything he did. He worked all of his career in the oilfield traveling the world to provide for his family. In doing so, he also gained a second family of work friends who, even in retirement, he spoke to and of often. In his time off, if he wasn't fishing, he was playing outside with his grandkids or discussing politics and the stock market with his brother over their morning coffee. The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Guidry Funeral Home on Friday, May 24 from 3:00 PM until 9:00 PM and continue on Saturday from 8:00 AM until the time of service.
