Church Point, LA:  Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Tuesday, March 21, 2023 at Guidry Funeral Home for Clay Eugene Duckworth, 65, who passed away Saturday evening, March 18, after a very sudden illness at Oschner Lafayette General Medical Center. Father Brian Harrington, pastor of Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church, will conduct the funeral services. Burial will be in the St. Edward Catholic Cemetery in Richard, LA.

Clay, a resident Branch, LA, was the son of Carroll Eugene Duckworth and the former Rita Brown. A pipeline foreman, he loved golf, watching football with his daughters, spending time with his only grandson, traveling, teaching his loved ones fishing at his beloved property and pond and reading his favorite book, the Bible.

He is survived by his wife of 39 years, Sharline "Charlie" Clavelle Duckworth of Branch, LA; two daughters, Jena Duckworth Miller of Branch and Christina Duckworth of Baton Rouge, LA; one grandson, Mason Miller of Branch: three sisters, Rhonda Duckworth of Ashland, KY, Suzanne Waeltermann and husband Dave of Round Rock, TX and Roxanne Duckworth Higgins and husband Darren of Jarrell, TX; one brother, Charles "Chuck" Duckworth and wife Deeann of Houston, TX; numerous nieces and nephews and his beloved cat, "Blossom". He was preceded in death by his parents; his in-laws, Joyce and Harold; his son-in-law, Ian Miller and his sister-in-law Kathy.

The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Guidry Funeral Home on Monday, March 20, from 3:00 PM until 8:00 PM and continue on Tuesday from 9:00 AM until the time of services.
