Church Point, LA:     A Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday, January 21, 2023 at Guidry Funeral Home in Church Point, LA for Charles Derrick Richard, 45. Mr. Richard, a native of Church Point and long-time resident of Alexandria, LA, died Thursday evening, January 19 at Rapides Regional Medical Center in Alexandria. Deacon Byrne Winn will conduct the service; interment will be at a later date.

Survivors include his parents, Bobby and Carla Bourgeois Richard; his brothers, Chad Richard of Prairie Ronde, LA and Cody Richard and wife Ashley of Church Point; his maternal grandparents, Glen and Mary Bourgeois of Church Point; his Godmother, Sharon Hardy of Lafayette, LA and a host of nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandmother, Anna Belle Bourgeois; his paternal grandparents, Herman and Delia Richard and a nephew, Axel Richard.

The family requested that visiting hours be observed at Guidry Funeral Home from 9:00 AM until the time of the services on Saturday. A recitation of the Rosary will be held there at 1:30 PM by Deacon Winn.

A resident of Pinecrest State School for forty-two years, Mr. Richard was truly loved and will be missed by all who knew him. Arrangements are being handled by Guidry Funeral Home, Inc.; 219 N.
