Church Point, La. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, March 30. 2016 at Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Church Point, La. for Charles Clay "Charlie" Barousse,77. Mr. Barousse, a native and long-time resident of Church Point, died Saturday evening, March 26 at Opelousas General Medical Center in Opelousas, La. Father Mark Melancon will conduct the services with entombment following in the Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Mausoleum on Highway 35 north of Church Point. Survivors include his wife, "Kay" Barousse of Church Point; a son, "Rusty" Barousse and companion Leslie of Church Point; a brother, Harold Lloyd Barousse and wife Marie of Morgan Hill, Ca.; his sisters: Nelda Thibodeaux of Victoria, Tx., Audrey Aldridge of Slidell, La. and Betty June Miller and husband Louis and Louise Briscoe and husband Lincoln 'Whitey" Briscoe-all of Church Point; a sister-in-law, Clorita Guidry Barousse of Lafayette, La.; three granddaughters, Hollie Renee' Barousse and Annie Clae' Barousse and companion Derek Miller of Church Point and Emily Kate Barousse Duhon and husband Gregory of Youngsville, La. and two great-grandchildren, Clayton Paul Miller and Addison Kate Duhon. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jean Barousse and Bessie Higginbotham Barousse and two sons, Timothy and Joseph Barousse. The family requested that visiting hours be observed at Guidry Funeral Home from 11:00 A.M. until 10:00 P.M. on Tuesday, March 29 and continue from 8:00 A.M. Wednesday until the time of the services. A recitation of the Rosary will be held there at 7:00 P.M. Tuesday by Deacon Bryne Winn.Mr. Barousse, an usher at Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Church for some thirty-five years, was a U.S. Army veteran.
