Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Sunday, September 12, 2010 at Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Church Point for Cedrick Bellard, 58. Mr. Bellard, a long-time resident of Church Point but currently living in Iowa, La., died at 3:41 A.M. Friday, September 10 at his daughter's residence there. Monsignor Jefferson J. DeBlanc will conduct the services with interment following in Bellevue Memorial Cemetery; Opelousas, La.
Survivors include three daughters: Suzan Matte Savoy and husband Preston and Tina Savant and husband Shawn of Church Point and Katrina Constance and husband Jimmy of Iowa, La.; a brother, Jules Bellard, Jr. of Arnaudville, La.; two sisters, Rose Benoit of Sunset, La. and Juanita Breaux of Opelousas, La.; six grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by a son, Cedrick Paul Bellard and his parents, Jules, Sr. and Mabel Fontenot Bellard.
The family requested that visiting hours be observed from 11:00 A.M. until 10:00 P.M. on Saturday, September 11 and continue from 8:00 A.M. Sunday until the time of the services. A recitation of the Rosary will be held at 6:30 P.M. Saturday.
Pallbearers will be Jimmy Constance, Preston Savoy, Shawn Savant, Daniel Bearb, Jules and Mitchell Bellard, Joey Dupre and Kenneth Breaux.
Mr. Bellard was employed by the State of Louisiana working on the Cameron, La. ferry for many years.
