Church Point, LA:      A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 AM Monday, August 19, 2024 at Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Church Point, LA for Cecile L. Johnson, 78, who passed away at 8:42 PM Thursday, August 15 at Courtyard Manor Retirement Home in Lafayette, LA. Fr. Brian Harrington, Pastor of Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church, will be the Celebrant of the Mass with Entombment following in the Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Mausoleum on Hwy 35.

Mrs. Johnson, a life-long resident of Church Point, was the daughter of the late Vernon Leblanc and the former Mary Hollinshead. Cecile was a faith-filled devout Catholic doing all things for God.

She is survived by her two daughters, Suzanne Neuharth and husband Scott of Church Point and Candace Wilson and husband Chris of Lafayette; one son, Jon Johnson and wife Angelique of Eunice, LA; nine grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; two sisters, Carole Thibodeaux of Church Point and Cathy Hebert of Loreauville, LA; three brothers, Marc LeBlanc of Broussard, LA, Sidney LeBlanc of Jeanerette, LA and Glenn LeBlanc of Charenton, LA; a sister-in-law, Christine LeBlanc of Sunset, LA  and her godchildren. She was preceded in death by parents; her husband, J.D. Johnson and her brother, Joseph LeBlanc.

The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Guidry Funeral Home on Sunday, August 18, from 9:00 AM until 9:00 PM and continue on Monday from 8:00 AM until the time of the Funeral Mass.
